Best charity PRs in the UK? You’ve found us

Teresa and Sam attend the Independent Impact 50 Awards at the Globe Theatre, London

Looking for the best PRs in the UK? Look no further. At Cause we don't often shout about individual team members because we let our work do the talking. But every now and then, something happens that we have to celebrate.

This week, we're incredibly proud to share that two members of Team Cause Communications have been recognised in the Independent Impact 50 Awards. That's half of our crew! Which feels pretty special.

Our Founder Sam Carlisle and Associate Director Teresa Parker have both been named in this prestigious list which honours the most innovative and influential independent PR practitioners shaping the future of communications. For Sam, this is the second year running she's received this recognition, a real testament to the consistent commitment and professionalism she brings not only to the world of communications, but to every client we work with.

Both Sam and Teresa's commitment to making a positive impact in the world is what makes them stand out in the comms in and what makes both media and clients warm to them instantly.

Teresa has spent her entire career amplifying the voices of victims of violence against women and girls. She brings that campaigning experience, alongside years of in-house charity communications experience from Women's Aid, to everything she does at Cause. Meanwhile, Sam has dedicated much of her life to campaigning for better disability rights for children and young people, bringing not only an impressive journalism career to the table, but her own passion to improve life for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people to every project we're lucky enough to work on.

People like Sam and Teresa are drawn to careers in cause-driven communications because they believe in amplifying voices that are often overlooked and as a result, both have drive and personality that shines through in every campaign, every client meeting and every piece of coverage achieved.

Sam said: “The day of the awards was typical of Cause. In London we had an in-depth meeting with clients to decide future strategy in the morning and meetings with national journalists in the evening. In Essex we were arranging radio interviews, and in Bolton we were researching case studies for a new national charity client. It’s good to be able to put the laptop away for an afternoon and celebrate what the whole team, not just me and Teresa, have achieved again this year. These are wins for all of us.”

Not shouting about personal achievements is incredibly common in our industry as most of us feel that our work should always come before the individual. But this is exactly why awards like the Independent Impact 50 matter so much. They give everyone a moment to come together and celebrate not just what we do, but who we are and why we do it.

We're so proud of Sam and Teresa, and grateful to the Independent Impact 50 for shining a light on the brilliant people working across our industry to make a real difference.
