The type of personal information I collect
I collect and process people’s personal data, as part of my work with them. People whose data I collect would include, but not be limited to, contacts, interviewees, clients and training delegates.
The information I collect comprises personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details, and details to inform stories, case studies etc).
How I get the personal information and why I have it
Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you in order for me to contact you, work with you or provide you with training.
I will not share this information further, beyond details included in news stories or case studies, which will be shared with your consent.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information is your consent. As such, you are able to remove your consent at any time, simply by contacting me using the details above.
How I store your personal information
Your information is securely stored in the UK, in line with the law.
I retain your data as follows:
Where I have worked with you for a media story, I will keep your details for three years, before deleting. This is in keeping with industry standards.
Where I have worked with you as a corporate client or in a training capacity, I will keep your details for two years, before deleting. Should there be a need to keep your information for a longer period, I will discuss this with you, and obtain your consent.
