Celebrating our award-winning PR
We don’t enter many awards for our work at Cause. It’s not that we don’t think we create campaigns and stories worthy of an award, it’s more that we’re a small, focused team, and usually our time is best spent devising a strategy for a client, pitching a story to a journalist and getting our clients the results they expect from us.
That being said, we’re always happy to celebrate when others put our work forward, and this week we’re delighted to share that two projects we were involved in have been recognised with awards and nominations.
Our ‘Fight for Ordinary’ campaign for the Disabled Children’s Partnership won ‘Best Campaign’ at this year’s Glomama awards, which celebrate incredible mums and shine a light on those making a difference. We’re a team of mums, and our founder Sam, who shaped the campaign, is a SEND mum, so it is incredibly personal and means a great deal to us. Seeing it being recognised is wonderful and we’re so pleased for everyone involved at the DCP.
We were also thrilled to hear that a film featuring one of our client OnSide’s Youth Advisory Board members, Tumi, has been nominated for a BAFTA. Last year, we organised a Big Issue takeover for OnSide, and Tumi wrote about her experience as a refugee. We shared her piece with producers at Sky, who had reached out to us looking for contributors to their documentary ‘World. War. Me’. Seeing Tumi's story reach this kind of audience, and now receive this level of recognition, is exactly why we do what we do.
This isn’t the first time others have put us forward for awards - in fact it’s not even our first BAFTA. Last year we were thrilled when the team at Sky FYI won a BAFTA for their documentary Disability and Me. Their report was based on the findings of a report we shared with them from our client the Disabled Children's Partnership, which starkly expressed the reality of being a disabled young person.
We also won the News Media Association’s Campaign of the Year award in 2022 for Give It Back, our campaign with The Sun and the Disabled Children’s Partnership. Give it Back also won campaign of the year at the Headline Money awards in 2023.
We love to receive recognition of the impact of our work for our clients, and we're so proud of what our team achieves - we see the impact of that every day in our press coverage, clients’ funding increases and policy wins, and excellent relationships with clients who continue to work with us year on year.
Huge congratulations to the Disabled Children's Partnership, to OnSide and to Tumi. We're glad we got to play a small part in sharing your stories.
