Disabled Children’s Partnership

Our work with the Disabled Children’s Partnership (DCP) started in 2017. As an organisation of more than 100 different charities the DCP has a wealth of expertise and stories, which Cause has helped them to unlock.

Our first campaign, the award-winning Give It Back, was run in conjunction with The Sun. Cause helped the DCP to frame their campaign demand, asking the Government to address the funding gap for disabled children, which has hit £573 million.

We secured coverage and interviews across broadcast and print for the campaign, and in 2022 Children’s Minister Will Quince announced £48 million of funding to help families with disabled children access respite care, a massive win for Give It Back.

In December 2022 Give It Back won the News Media Association’s Making a Difference Award for campaign of the year, with the Association’s chief executive Owen Meredith praising it as an ‘outstanding example of the vital role journalism plays in our society’.

We’ve also worked on two more campaigns for the DCP - Left in Lockdown and SEND a better message -  and our media coverage has reached a combined audience of more than 20 million people.

“For the Give It Back campaign, Cause enabled us to secure a major media partnership with The Sun on funding for disabled children. During the pandemic, they have helped deliver high-profile coverage across television, radio, print and on-line media, highlighting both the challenges that families with disabled children face and the support that our member organisations are able to offer. Working with Cause, we have been able to raise significantly the profile of disabled children both with the public and with government. The team is steeped in media and communications skills and expertise, and are creative and client-centred in their approach. I would not hesitate to recommend Cause.”
