Collapsing cliffs

Green expert and environmental scientist Angela Terry is the CEO of green consumer site One Home, which is full of tips and advice on how to go green, and to adapt to the existing impacts of climate change.

Angela and her team spent months researching and developing a report into coastal erosion around the UK, and using existing Government data they identified the 21 villages and towns that are most likely to be lost to the sea this century.

The research was both meticulous and shocking, and at Cause we developed a media plan to make sure it was launched with maximum impact.

First we crafted a story full of data and stats, but also with real people’s stories of how their lives had been impacted by living so close to crumbling cliff edges.

Then, working with trusted journalists at the Press Association, the UK’s national newswire, we placed the story. The response was phenomenal, with dozens of requests for interviews with Angela across national and regional print, digital and broadcast outlets.

We secured more than 480 pieces of print and digital coverage, reaching an incredible 90 million people, as well as interest and follow-up features from the New York Times, Mail Online and Yahoo News.

One Home’s report led the climate news agenda and further established Angela as a leading expert in her field.

“Cause Communications are passionate, creative and a thoroughly positive force to work alongside. Through their contacts and in-depth understanding of the media, they regularly secure national coverage and exposure that has enabled me to share essential knowledge on green issues, inform attitudes and ultimately encourage climate action.”
